Now, the Majestic Hotel & Spa is set to redefine the art of dining with the introduction of its newest culinary experience: Majestic Wine Dinners. Scheduled to debut on October 5, 2023, these intimate bi-monthly gatherings promise to take guests on a gastronomic journey that celebrates the marriage of fine wines and exquisite cuisine.

A Storied Legacy: Majestic Hotel & Spa’s Rich History

Before delving into the exciting world of Majestic Wine Dinners, it’s essential to appreciate the history and heritage that underpin the Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona. Established in 1918, the Majestic has played an emblematic role in Barcelona’s architecture, society, and lifestyle for over a century.

Nestled on the stylish Passeig de Gràcia, the Majestic stands as a testament to neo-classical French-style architecture. Its elegant façade and opulent interiors have hosted some of the world’s most notable personalities, including literary giants like Ernest Hemingway and Antonio Machado.

The Majestic Hotel & Spa’s journey through time reflects the evolution of Barcelona itself. It has witnessed the city’s transformation from a bustling Mediterranean port town to a vibrant cosmopolitan hub. Throughout this transformation, the Majestic has remained a constant, offering a luxurious and timeless escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The Majestic’s commitment to preserving its historical essence while embracing modernity is evident in its recent five-year renovation led by interior designer Antonio Obrador. This meticulous restoration has not only revived the hotel’s original splendor but has also positioned it among the iconic landmarks of Barcelona once more.

But what truly sets the Majestic apart is not just its architectural grandeur or its storied guest list. It’s the art of hospitality, the ability to make every guest feel like royalty and the pursuit of excellence in every aspect of the guest experience.

Majestic Wine Dinners: A Paradigm Shift in Culinary Excellence

With its rich history and commitment to excellence as a backdrop, the Majestic Hotel & Spa is embarking on a culinary adventure like no other: Majestic Wine Dinners. This concept is a testament to the hotel’s dedication to pushing boundaries and redefining the traditional dining experience.

At the heart of Majestic Wine Dinners is a profound understanding that wine is not merely an accompaniment to a meal but a central element around which the entire culinary experience revolves. This innovative approach challenges convention and elevates the appreciation of wine and food to new heights.

The Unique Approach: Wine First, Menu Second

In a departure from the usual practice where menus are meticulously crafted before wine pairings are considered, Majestic Wine Dinners takes a bold step in the opposite direction. The hotel collaborates closely with select wineries that share its philosophy, creating a menu that harmonizes seamlessly with the wines’ unique aromas, flavors, and textures.

This unconventional approach places the spotlight firmly on the wines themselves, allowing them to dictate the direction of the dining experience. It’s an approach that celebrates the art of winemaking and the intricate nuances of each vintage, from the first sip to the final lingering taste.

Every two months, the Majestic Hotel & Spa will join forces with a distinguished winery to craft a culinary experience that is rooted in the wines themselves. This collaborative effort goes beyond selecting wines for the meal; it encompasses the winery’s ethos, vision for the future, and core values. It’s an immersive journey into the world of winemaking, where every sip tells a story.

A Grand Commencement with Castell d’Encus Winery

The inaugural event in the Majestic Wine Dinners series is set to debut on October 5, 2023, in partnership with the renowned Castell d’Encus Winery. Castell d’Encus is celebrated for its exceptional-quality wines and a commitment to craftsmanship that resonates with the Majestic’s own dedication to excellence.

Joining the event will be the owner of Castell d’Encus winery, Raül Bobet, a luminary in the world of winemaking and one of the most influential winemakers in the country.

Majestic Hotel Executive Chef – David Romero

Majestic’s Executive Chef, David Romero, is another integral part of this gastronomic adventure. Inspired by the selected wines, Chef Romero has meticulously crafted a menu that is not merely a complement to the wines but a harmonious symphony of flavors.

Adding to the ensemble is Alberto Pulido, the hotel’s Sommelier, whose deep knowledge of wines ensures that each pour is a revelation, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Intimate and Thoughtfully Curated Experiences

One of the hallmarks of Majestic Wine Dinners is the commitment to creating intimate and thoughtfully curated experiences. The seating capacity for each dinner will be intentionally limited to accommodate between 30 to 35 guests. This deliberate choice allows for a more personal and engaging interaction between guests, winemakers, and the culinary team.

It’s an opportunity for guests to delve into the world of winemaking, to engage in conversations about terroir and varietals, and to gain insights into the creative process behind each bottle. The intimacy of the setting ensures that every diner’s questions are answered and every palate is delighted.
